Prayer for November 2014 (Courtesy of a member of the congregation)

Loving Heavenly Father, we come to you with our prayers for the world - for others and for ourselves.  We recognise Your Greatness, Your wonderful forgiveness to those who approach Your Throne of Grace for comfort and for Peace which You so freely give through Your dear Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray for peace in this troubled world.  That nation will speak peace to nation and study war no more.  We thank the Lord for the sacrifices of those who have gone before in service to all nations in pursuit of peace and an end to war.  We thank you for all who serve to keep our world a safer place.  Bless and keep them as they carry out their tasks.

We pray for ourselves.  We know that we fall far short of Your plans for us. Forgive us dear Father, and help us to follow You more nearly every day.

These, and the many unspoken prayers of our hearts, we ask in the sure and strong name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.
